Since our founding, Novobeing has embarked on a series of research studies that are aimed at exploring the potential of virtual reality (VR) in improving patient well-being. At Novobeing, we have always prioritized a research-driven approach to product development, ensuring that our solutions are rooted in evidence-based practices.

We recognize the importance of collaborating with leading clinicians and researchers to create engaging and effective digital therapeutics. By working closely with renowned healthcare institutions and experts in the field, we ensure that our solutions are not only immersive and captivating but also backed by scientific evidence. This commitment to research and collaboration allows us to develop transformative experiences that have a profound positive impact on mental health and well-being, empowering individuals to achieve lasting results.

Let's delve into these studies that highlight the remarkable impact of Novobeing's evidence-based digital therapeutics.

Co-Developing a VR Digital Therapeutic for Hospitalized Patients:

In 2021 Novobeing joined forces with Massachusetts General Hospital, the largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, to co-develop the first-of-its-kind Digital Therapeutic intervention that aims to improve wellbeing, self-efficacy and coping skills in patients that are hospitalized and undergoing a stem cell transplantation. Our solutions provides patients with relaxation techniques to manage associated symptoms like stress, anxiety and depression as well as supportive psychotherapy to address the difficult treatment course, cope with the prolonged hospitalization, and provide reassurance. Our enhanced recovery program is based on a proven protocol developed at MGH and leverages a multi-modal CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), and mindfulness-based therapy program.

We are currently conducting an 80-patient randomized control trial focused on evaluating the efficacy of Novobeing's virtual reality digital therapeutic in enhancing the quality of life, reducing symptom burden, alleviating psychological distress, and enhancing self-efficacy in adult patients with hematologic malignancies undergoing treatment at MGH. Co-investigators Dr. Areej El-Jawari and Dr. Hermiono L. Amonoo from MGH are working closely with Novobeing in this transformative partnership.

Pioneering Study in Mindfulness and Cancer:

Novobeing is collaborating with Dr. Linda Carlson, Enbridge Research Chair in Psychosocial Oncology at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine, in an innovative study. This first-of-its-kind research assesses the feasibility of a virtual reality-guided mindfulness (VRGM) intervention program in adult cancer patients with chronic cancer-related pain. By combining the immersive environment of VR with mindfulness practices, Novobeing aims to mitigate chronic pain and enhance the quality of life for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

Enhancing the Radiation Therapy Experience:

In another one of our research initiatives, Novobeing partnered with Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center to explore the use of VR technology in cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy. Through our immersive meditation programs, Novobeing aims to transform the pre-procedure wait into a calming VR meditation experience. By utilizing a VR headset with our software, patients can immerse themselves in nature-based mindfulness meditations, reducing their stress and anxiety before a procedure. This feasibility study is a stepping stone towards enhancing patient well-being before other stressful procedures like MRI and Chemotherapy.

These research studies are shedding light on the transformative potential of virtual reality in the field of mental health and well-being. Novobeing's evidence-based digital therapeutics are not only changing the way mental health treatments are delivered but also paving the way for accessible and effective solutions outside clinical settings. With these studies, Novobeing is at the forefront of innovation, combining cutting-edge technology with proven therapeutic techniques to empower individuals on their journey towards improved well-being.

Stay tuned as Novobeing continues to make significant strides in the field of virtual reality digital therapeutics, unlocking new possibilities for mental health care and empowering individuals to lead healthier, happier lives.
